A Brazilian footballer Douglas Pereira dos Santos plays for São Paulo as a defender. Pereira was born on 6 August 1990.
Born in Monte Alegre de Goiás, Douglas started playing at the local Goiás. In 2008, he received the opportunity on the professional squad, where he stayed until 2012. The defender’s considered to be one of the most talented club’s players. In 2009, Douglas won the Campeonato Goiano under the club’s flag.
In 2009, Pereira was capped for the Brazil U-20 team. The defender appeared in the South American Championship, where his squad became the champions.
After a promising start, a bout of injuries took Douglas out of action for almost 8 months. He returned to the field in 2012, after a new contract was penned with São Paulo. The player hopes that playing for the Brazilian club in Série A will let his performance go forward at a steady gait. He’s already made more than 30 successful runs with the first squad, netting two goals.
