Dragan Blatnjak was born on 1 August 1981 in Studenci, SFR Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina). He started to play football since the age of 14. Dragan trained at football school of the third league club NK Jadran Luka Ploče.
During the game in NK Brotnjo Čitluk Blatnjak succeeded to play in the Premier League. In 2001, the footballer moved to Croatia. He started playing for NK Zadar, where he spent two seasons. In that period the player scored 12 goals. His brilliant performance drew the attention of HNK Hajduk Split, which was one of the most famous Croatian football clubs.
Dragan's team won twice the Croatian Cup and became the Bosnia national football team player. The new coach Zoran Vulić began to use the player as a midfielder, which, of course, redounded upon his game. In fact, Blatnjak scored just five goals during one and a half season.
In 2007, Dragan joined FC Khimki. Mainly, he was used as a left halfback, as a result the footballer scored only two goals in the championship. In January, the contract was prolonged for another 3 years. According to the results of the first round of the 2009 Russian Football Championship, Blatnjak was recognized as the best assistant. In fact, the player made ten assists.
In January, the player signed a two-year contract with FC Moscow, but the club didn’t get to the Russian Football Championship, so the footballer began to look for a new team. In February 2010, Dragan Blatnjak started performing as a midfielder for FC Rostov.
In 2012 he was released from the club and became a free agent. Later on he joined a Croatian side Osijek.
