Sérgio Pablo Barbosa Valente (also known as Duda) plays as a left midfielder for Málaga CF and the national team of Portugal.
Portuguese Vitória Guimarães was the club where this man started to play football though he spent most of his career playing for Spanish clubs. Thus his first team in Spain became Cádiz where he moved in 1999. Duda spent 2 productive seasons with the squad making 36 appearances with 13 goals.
In 2001 he signed for Málaga. Having spent one season there he joined Levante on a season-long loan (2002/03). Then the player returned to Málaga where he played till 2006 earning 93 appearances with 13 league goals in total. The type of football the Portuguese used to deliver attracted attention of bigger clubs who made a bid for the footballer. As a result Duda was transferred to Sevilla where he won the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. However he wasn’t the one to bring those titles as he managed to make only 28 appearances throughout 3 seasons for the team from Andalusia. Such a situation made him move back to Málaga first on loan and then permanently. Having rejoined that club Duda again started to deliver quality football making 114 appearances and scoring 16 times for the blue-whites since 2008.
Duda has performed for the national team since 2007. For that time he has made 18 appearances with 1 goal. Due to tough competition for a position of a flank midfielder Duda is mainly used as a substitute. Nevertheless he was included into the list of players who participated in the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa.
