Dzmitry Likhtarovich is a midfielder for BATE Borisov. He was born on 1 March 1978 in Mogilev, Belarus.
Dzmitry is a disciple of Dnepr-Transmash Mogilev football academy. Together with Dnepr the midfielder emerged as winner of the Belarusian championship in 1998.
Likhtarovich played an overall of 183 games and managed 12 goals for Dnepr-Transmash. A bit later one of the best defensive midfielders in the championship decided to transfer to BATE.
At the Borisov club Dzmitry immediately emerged as a mainstay, and performed so confidently in the 2001/02 season that he has even won in the nomination the Best Player of the Championship. Likhtarovich has many times won the national championships, Belarusian Cups and Super Cups.
His goal against Everton became the first BATE’s goal in the group stage of Europa League. For a long time Dzmitry has been the captain of the Borisov club.
Despite being one of the best players in the country for many years, Likhtarovich made only one appearance for Belarus. Prior to that Dzmitry Likhtarovich represented Belarus as part of U-16, U-18, U-21 and Belarus Olympic teams.
