Eddie Gaven is an American footballer born on 25 October 1986 in New Jersey, the USA. He currently plays as a midfielder for Columbus Crew in MLS.
Eddie grabbed the ins and outs of football in IMG Soccer Academy before joining MetroStars in 2003. He made his professional debut in June 2003 establishing himself as the youngest player in club history. Just in the second match with the club Gaven set up a record as the youngest player to score a goal which he did in a game against D.C. United. Overall, he played 67 matches scoring 16 goals for the Metro Stars.
In 2006, Eddie struck roots at Columbus Crew. In his debut season with the club he was a starter in almost every game. In 2008, he became the MLS Cup winner together with his club. As of August 2012, Gaven made more than 180 appearances and scored more than 30 goals for the Crew.
Eddie Gaven was an international for the USA at U-17, U-20 and U-23 levels in between 2003 and 2008. Since 2004, he is capped to the United States national team.
