Edgar Bruno da Silva, commonly known as Edgar, is a Brazilian forward born on 3 January 1987 in São Carlos.
Edgar began his professional career with a third division club Joinville in 2005. For the next four years he featured for a number of clubs such as Brazilian São Paulo and Vasco da Gama, Portuguese sides Beira-Mar, Porto and Académica and Serbian team Red Star Belgrade. But his career really picked up steam when Edgar joined Portuguese Nacional in 2009. He got off to a flying start at the club scoring 4 goals in the first three matches, including a splendid brace in a 2-1 win over Marítimo. Edgar also shaped well as he scored a hat-trick in a 4-2 win over Leixões SC. Overall, the Brazilian netted 12 goals in 24 matches during the 2009/10 season. In the 2010/11 campaign, Edgar’s ten goals earned his new team Vitória Guimarães a ticket to the UEFA Europa League. In the summer 2012, Edgar moved to the United Arab Emirates to join the Pro-League side Al Shabab.
