Edgar Prib is a Russian-born German footballer who was born on 15 December 1989 in Neryungri, the former Soviet Union.
Edgar is a product of Greuther Fürth’s youth academy. He spent twelve years here before officially ending his youth career in 2008 and moving to the professional level. Having netted 5 goals in 35 matches for the reserve team, Prib penned his first professional contract running until June 2012. The footballer established himself as a regular first team player after he had secured 6 points in 9 games, but soon suffered an ankle injury and was forced to stay off the pitch for six months. Nevertheless, after the injury Edgar returned to the team making his debut as a winger in the matches against Alemannia Aachen and Karlsruher SC. It took some time for Prib to become a starter again and he managed to do this by mid-2010.
In 2013 Edgar switched to Hannover 96.
Edgar is a universal midfielder. He started his career as a playmaker, and then was placed to the right flank. In Greuther Fürth’s starting-line up the footballer moved to the left flank. Edgar is currently used not only in the midfield, but also in the left-back position.
