A Colombian footballer Edixon Perea Valencia is a striker for Changchun Yatai. Edixon was born on 20 April 1984 in Cali.
Perea’s career started at the youth department of Atlético Huila. In 2001, the striker penned a pro contract with the club. His debut season was lined with 6 goals racked up in 24 matches. In 2002, he was scouted by Deportes Quindío. He made 18 appearances for the team and moved to Deportivo Pasto.
When Edixon was 18, he got the proposal from one of Colombia’s strongest clubs - Atlético Nacional. The striker took the proposal without hesitation. He spent two years at the club displaying a good performance. Altogether, he amassed 38 goals in 86 games. Some big clubs were in for the striker, when the transfer window had opened.
In 2005, Perea signed for Bordeaux. He netted three times in 38 matches during the spell. In 2008, a contract was penned with Grêmio. Edixon remained at the club until 2010 making 40 appearances and racking up 12 goals.
In 2001, the striker moved to Mexico, where he joined Cruz Azul. He netted eight goals in 22 club’s fixtures. In 2012, Perea agreed on a deal with the Chinese side Changchun Yatai. His debut year was lined with five goals amassed in 4 matches. Nevertheless, in 2013, the club’s management opted to send the footballer on loan to Deportivo Cali and later on to a Hungarian side Budapest Honved.
On international level, Edixon Perea made seven appearances for the Colombia U-20 team from 2001 to 2003. In 2004, he was capped for the Colombia full side. In 2006, the striker took part in the qualifying campaign for the World Cup.
