A French footballer Édouard Butin plays a striker for FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.
The player’s professional career started at Dijon FCO youth team which later turned into the national team. He represented the club over a period of three years. And then he entered Sochaux training centre. Along with U-19 football team he became the holder of the Coupe Gambardella in 2007.
The striker signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2008. On 14 September 2008 he made his Ligue 1 debut in the match against Lille OSC when he appeared on the pitch in the 63rd minute. The player scored his first goal in the match against Stade Rennais FC.
As a French international Édouard made his debut at the Toulon Tournament in May 2010.
In the 2010/11 season Butin netted his first goal against AC Arles-Avignon. Due to strong competition within the team he rarely appeared on the pitch (during that season he played 2 games out of 18 possible).
In the 2011/12 season the striker came off the substitutes’ bench and replaced his teammate. But he reached real success only after the cover in the coaching staff. In the first game which occurred on 10 March he managed to set up a goal to Evian Thonon Gaillard FC. In the following week he opened the scoring in the match against OGC Nice. But on 24 March Édouard suffered an injury (his anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee was hurt). Thus for the next six months the player was absent.
