Édson Rivera is a striker of Club Atlas. He was born on 4 November 1991 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
In 2004 Rivera entered the youth academy of Club Atlas where he played for seven years. In 2011 the young talent prompted interest from the Portuguese outfit Braga which signed Édson on a long-term deal.
In the 2011/2012 season the striker made several appearances for Braga. The head coach believed that the Mexican needed a little more time to become a regular first team player because both his talent and potential indicated that he had a promising future if the right approach to his development was taken. However, in 2013 the young striker returned to Mexico and joined Club Atlas.
In 2011 Rivera was a part of the Mexico U-20 football team who won the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship. He kicked 4 goals in 10 matches of the tournament.
