Eduardo Antonio Salvio plays on a position of a striker for Atlético Madrid and the national team of Argentine.
The first club of this footballer was Lanús. First he had to spend some time playing for the reserve team before he was appointed a main squad player. Eduardo made his debut in August of 2008 against Boca Juniors. His first goal came on October 24 of the same year. He hit the back of Argentinos Juniors’s net. Many European teams such as Galatasaray and Zenit St. Petersburg were willing to get the talented footballer but he moved to Atlético Madrid on January 22, 2010. The debut for the new team took place on February 28. That was a game of the 24th tour against Valencia. Eduardo came in as a substitute for Simão Sabrosa on the 89th minute of the game.
His first goals for the Spanish side came in a 3-1 victory over Tenerife. He also played 8 games in the UEFA Europa League where his team went through to the finals. The ‘Colchneros’ beat Fulham 2-1 and Eduardo Salvio replaced Jose Antonio Reyes on the 76th minute. Then on August 20, Salvio went on loan to a Portuguese side Benfica. He spent 5 matches in the Champions League and 6 in the Europa League apart from 19 games in the Portuguese championship.
Eduardo came back to Atlético with an injury that took some time to recover from. Nevertheless he was entrusted to the place in the starting 11 frequently enough for him to score both in the Europa League and in the national championship.
As for his international career Eduardo made 5 goalless appearances for the senior squad, also he started 9 times for Argentina U-20 and scored 4 goals.
