Emanuel Herrera is an Argentine forward currently playing for Montpellier in the French Ligue 1. He was born on 13 April 1987 in Rosario, Argentina.
Emanuel began his professional career in native Argentina where he featured for such clubs as Chacarita Juniors, Sportivo Italiano and Patronato. However, for the first three seasons there he made only 16 appearances for the three clubs. In 2011, Herrera moved to Chilean side Concepción where his career really took off. He shortly established himself as a prominent figure in the club. Overall, Herrera scored 27 goals in 35 second-division matches for Concepción throughout the 2011 season. In 2012, he enjoyed a rise joining Unión Española in the Chilean top flight. The Argentine made his debut for the club in a Copa Libertadores match against Mexican Tigres on 25 January 2012. His Primera División debut came a few days after as he scored in a 2-0 win over Audax Italiano on 29 January 2012. Herrera finished the season with 11 league goals in 21 matches.
In July 2012, the Argentine striker signed for the French side Montpellier and plays for the club today. He made a debut in a match against Lyon scoring a penalty then.
