An Argentine footballer Emiliano Adrián Insúa Zapata plays for Atletico Madrid. He was born on 7 January 1989 in Buenos Aires.
Emiliano trained at the academia of Boca Juniors, before signing his first pro contract in 2007 with the club. The player spent his debut season serving loan to Liverpool. Impressed by Emiliano’s abilities the coach of the temporary squad pressed the club’s board to buy him and so they did. In the summer 2007, the Argentine footballer became an official member of the club, where he was groomed during the following three years. He didn’t become the starter, making 46 appearances as a left defender.
In the summer 2010, Emiliano was loaned out to Galatasaray for a season. In total, he made 16 appearances for the Turkish team.
In the summer 2011, a transfer to Sporting Clube de Portugal happened, after Insúa had signed a five-year contract. In his debut season the footballer made more than 25 appearances for the Portugal side. In January 2013 Emiliano signed a new contract with the Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
Since 2006 until 2009, Emiliano was capped 19 times for the Argentina U-20 team. In August 2008, he was chosen by the Olympic selectors to represent his motherland. Since 2009, the player became a representative of the Argentina national team.
