Emiliano Moretti is an Italian footballer and a defender of Genoa football club.
Moretti was born in 11 June 1981 in Rome, Italy. Emiliano started his football career in Lodigiani but in 2000 he was scouted and transferred to Fiorentina. In March 2001 the Italian played his debut match in Serie A and later helped his club to clinch Coppa Italia. In 2001/02 season Moretti played 27 fixtures for Gigliati. After the club’s bankruptcy Emiliano joined Juventus but managed to take part only in eight matches of the team and then was loaned to Modena.
In the summer 2003 the Italian put pen to paper of a contract with Parma but then was immediately loaned to Bologna where he managed to play 32 matches After 2003/04 season Parma that was suffering from financial problems sold the player to Valencia coached by Claudio Ranieri. Moretti immediately became one of the team’s anchor players. The Italian took part in 101 fixtures and scored twice during two years. Furthermore, he managed to clinch Copa del Rey in 2008/09 with the team. On 11 July 2009 Moretti returned to Italy and penned a contract with Genoa. The Italian scored his debut goal for Il Grifone in the fixture against Atalanta.
Since 16 Moretti had been a part of Italy youth national team of different ages and managed to become the finalist of European U-16 Championship. Moreover he won the European U-21 Championship and the bronze medal with the Italian Olympic team in 2004 in Athens.
