Emmanuel Rivière is a striker, born on 3 March 1990 in Le Lamentin, France.
The player’s youth career began in 1996 as soon as he went through a tryout at Espoir Saint-Luce. He played in the youth team squad until 2005. That year Emmanuel attracted attention of the scouts from Saint-Étienne who arrived to the academy to have a look at the promising striker. He finally convinced them during the exhibition match after which he was named one of the best players. Rivière was offered a transfer to the academy of Saint-Étienne where he could receive education at a higher level. The player accepted the offer and stayed at the academy until 2009.
In 2009 the striker earned a call up to the senior team of AS Saint-Étienne. Emmanuel joined the club on a three-year deal. For two seasons he was a standout player and netted 17 goals in 73 total appearances for the club.
Such impressive performance caught the eye of Toulouse playing in Ligue 1. The club paid for Rivière €6 million and immediately signed a four-year contract with a gifted striker.
At the beginning of 2013 Emmanuel joined a promising Ligue 2 side Monaco. Having netted 17 goals in 50 appearances for Monaco, Riviere moved to Newcastle United in the summer 2014.
From 2005 till 2010 Emmanuel represented France at all levels to which he was eligible. In total he featured in 41 matches scoring 13 goals.
