Esteban Cambiasso is an Argentinean football player who was born on 18 August 1980. Cambiasso is the second most titled footballer in the history of Argentinean football (23 titles) after Alfredo Di Stéfano.
Cambiasso started his playing career in Argentinos Juniors in 1995. After spending just a season in the team, he joined Real Madrid youth team, where he stayed from 1996 to 1998. In 1998 the player returned to Argentina, signing for Independiente, where he played for three seasons, making 98 appearances and scoring 14 goals. Later the midfielder signed a one-year contract with River Plate.
After acquiring enough experience for playing at the highest level, Cambiasso came back to Real Madrid. He helped the team to claim the UEFA Super Cup, the Intercontinental Cup, La Liga trophy and the Spanish SuperCup. After his contract with Los Blankos expired in 2004, Cambiasso joined Internazionale. In his debut season for the club, the side clinched the Italian Cup. Cambiasso quickly became a regular in the squad, showing impressive skills and scoring outstanding goals in most important matches.
Cambuiasso is renowned for his playing style. He plays at the position of central midfielder that does not only destroys the opponent’s challenges, but also starts attacks of his own side and is capable to change the shape of a game.
Cambiasso played for Argentina U-21 team at the 1997 FIFA World Championship though his debut for the national team happened in 2000. Since that moment he took part in 2006 World Cup where the team reached the quarter-finals, losing there to Germany on penalties. Overall Cambiasso made more than 50 appearances for the national side.
