Étienne Didot plays as a central midfielder for Toulouse FC. He was born on 24 July 1983 in Paimpol, France.
The player’s youth career started in 1990 when he joined his local club Stade Paimpolais. Over a period of seven years he successfully studied at the club’s academy until he was noticed by the scouts from Stade Rennais FC. After the midfielder went through a trial at Rennes he was offered to move to their academy and continue the education. Rennes’ academy was one of the best football schools in France that is why Étienne opted for the future with that club. After his graduation from the academy in 2002 he was awarded a lasting contract. Didot was glad to play in Ligue 1 and in the summer of 2002 he signed the contract keeping him at the club until 2008. The midfielder was an effective element of the team appearing practically in all club matches. From 2002 till 2008 he participated in 152 games and netted 5 goals.
In 2008 Étienne received a call up from Toulouse also playing in Ligue 1. At that time the player was ready to introduce some changes in his career and accepted the offer signing a long-term contract with the club. Toulouse paid a €3 million fee for Didot. Since 2008 he has always starred in the starting lineup scoring 5 goals in over 90 appearances with the club.
From 2003 till 2005 the midfielder was capped 16 times for the France national U-21 team.
