Ewerton Almeida is a center back for Anzhi Makhachkala. He was born on 23 March, 1989 in Penedo, Brazil.
Ewerton began his football career at Corinthian (AL) youth system and finished it in 2009 at the academy of Palmeiras.
Almeida’s professional career started in 2010 at Corinthians (AL). For six months at the club Ewerton made only several appearances as a substitute, but the head coach couldn’t promise him a regular position due to high competition for a place in the starting lineup in the team. That same year the defender was sent on loan to ASA to gain experience and practice. For half of the 2010/11 season the Brazilian played 22 matches, scoring one goal and returned to his home club.
In 2011 Ewerton was loaned to Série C Oeste, but didn’t make a single appearance there. In that same season, Almeida was a loaned player at Série B side Sport Recife, for which, however, he also didn’t make a single appearance.
In the summer of 2011, Ewerton Almeida was loaned to Portuguese S.C. Braga. The 2011/12 season at the new club was a success, as S.C. Braga scored 3rd place in the Portuguese Championship. There Ewerton was periodically included in the starting lineup. According to Almeida’s loan contract terms, S.C. Braga had an opportunity to buy rights for the defender by the end of the season, but that didn’t happen.
In August, 2012 the Brazilian moved to Anzhi Makhachkala for $5.4 million. S.C. Braga got only $600.000, because the rights for the player belonged to Corinthians (AL) and Brazilian bank “Minas Gerais.”
