Fabrizio Miccoli is an Italian forward born on 27 June 1979 in Nardò, Italy.
He started out his football career with Milan youth academy, participating in myriad junior championships for four years. In 1996, Fabrizio moved to Casarano where he signed his first professional contract. He had two favourable seasons with the club as he was deployed in every other game. Overall, he scored 19 goals in 57 games for Casarano.
In 1998, Miccoli joined Serie B club Ternana Calcio signing a four-year contract with the side. Playing for all his worth, he shortly became a first-choice striker for the club scoring a total of 32 goals in 120 appearances.
In 2002, a promising footballer was signed by a top-flight Serie A side Juventus which, though, almost immediately made him roam from one loan to another. Thus, Miccoli netted 9 goals in 34 games for Perugia during the 2002/03 campaign; then found himself at Fiorentina striking 12 goals in 35 matches; and then enjoyed two seasons with Benfica amassing 14 goals in 39 appearances for the Portuguese club.
In 2007, Fabrizio Miccoli stuck roots at Palermo soon becoming a pillar of the team. Due to Fabrizio’s brilliant display, his side finished 5th in 2009/10 Serie A – a feat never accomplished by Palermo before. In the 2011/12 season, he scored a brace in a 4-3 win over Inter, aiding his team to the 4th place in the table.
A regular Italian international, Miccoli scored a total of 7 goals in 17 appearances for the youth side and was capped for the Italy national team in 2003/04 campaign where he scored twice in 10 games.
