Fan Chun Yip is a footballer from Hong Kong, born on 1 May 1976. He is a goalkeeper at South China. In 1985, he started training at the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation team and then a talented football player joined the Hong Kong Sports Institute.
The first club Fan Chun Yip signed contract with was Hong Kong Rangers. That was in 1995. After his stay at Hong Kong Rangers he was sent to Happy Valley on loan. Then the footballer played for such teams as Yee Hope and Instant-Dict. In 2001 he returned to Happy Valley, where he stayed till 2009, then had a spell at Shatin and in 2010 he joined South China.
Since 1998 he’s been called to represent the Hong Kong national team, he also was a part of the Olympic squad. He proved himself a remarkable keeper making excellent saves on 8 August 2003; it was the match against Real Madrid where he featured as the second-half substitute. In the 2005 East Asian Cup tournament Fan Chun Yipwas named the Best Goalkeeper. He’s worn the captain’s armband for the national team and has already been capped 40 times.
