Felipe Alejandro Gutiérrez Leiva is a midfielder of Twente. He was born on 8 October 1990 in Quintero, Chile.
Felipe’s career took off in Everton de Viña del Mar, when he was 14. The footballer spent three years there before moving to more prestigious Santiago side Universidad Católica. At first, Gutiérrez participated in various youth tournaments, but soon was asked to join the main team of the club. His professional début came on 7 November 2009 in the home 4-1 victory over Universidad de Concepción. On 31 July 2010, the player netted his first goal in the match against Rancagua side O’Higgins. In 2011 Felipe lifted the Copa Chile and won the Copa del Pacífico one year later. During four years with the club, the footballer made 91 appearances and amassed 22 goals.
On 12 June 2012, the Chilean player sealed a deal with Dutch side Twente till the summer 2017 and got number 21 shirt. He performs at the position of an attacking midfielder.
In 2010 Gutiérrez received his first call-up to the Chile national team and took part in the friendly against Estonia on 20 June 2011, which ended in a 4-0 victory of his squad.
