Felipe Melo is a midfielder for Galatasaray. He was born on 26 June 1983 in Volta Redonda, Brazil.
Felipe’s professional career started at the Brazilian Serie A Flamengo, Cruzeiro and Grêmio. In 2005 Melo signed a contract with RCD Mallorca and after only 7 appearances was transferred to Racing Santander. In 2007 Felipe moved to UD Almería and quickly paved his way to the starting lineup, squad’s leadership and the Best Player of the Season title.
In June 2008 Melo was purchased by Fiorentina for €8 million. A year later Felipe was acquired by Juventus for 4 years. The Brazilian midfielder made his debut at Juve in 2009 against A.S. Roma.
In July 2011 Melo was loaned out to Turkish Galatasaray and after two successful seasons was offered a permanent deal.
Felipe Melo is Rio de Janeiro State Champion, Brazilian Champions Cup and Brazilian Cup winner, Brazilian Football Champion, and the Turkish Süper Lig Champion.
