Fernando Muslera was born on June 16, 1986 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the moment he is a goalkeeper at Galatasaray (Turkey). He also plays for the Uruguay National Team.
Fernando Muslera started his football career at Montevideo Wanderers in 2004 and in 2006, due to the prominent talent of the young footballer, he was loaned by Nacional, one of the most powerful clubs in Uruguay. Although Fernando appeared only in a few matches, he drew the attention of many famous clubs, such as Benfica SL, Juventus FC, Arsenal FC, Lazio SS. At the end of the season Lazio signed a contract about Fernando Muslera’s departure for €3 million. The beginning of the new season was quite promising, but the goalkeeper conceded 5 goals in the match against AC Milan.
The season of 2008/2009 Fernando Muslera spent on the bench as a substitute for a new goalkeeper Juan Pablo Carrizo. In the following season Carrizo was sold and Fernando Muslera started playing in the first team again. He performed very well in matches against Roma AS, Genoa CFC, Sampdoria UC, Napoli SSC. At the end of the 2008/2009 season, when the club won Coppa Italia, Fernando Muslera turned into the club’s hero.
In 2011 Fernando Muslera joined Galatasaray and won the Turkish Süper Lig in 2011/2012 and Süper Kupa in 2012.
