Florent Balmont – is a midfielder who at present plays for Lille OSC. He was born on 2 February 1980 in the city of Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon (France).
His youth football career started at Lyon academy. It is considered to be the place where practically every boy who wants to connect his life with football is eager to study. Florent studied at the academy and at the same time represented the club’s youth team. He also took part in various youth championships.
In 2002 the player was offered to join Lyon major squad. The young midfielder signed his first professional contract for two years. During the first season he featured in 11 matches scoring 1 goal.
The following season Balmont was loaned to Toulouse FC. With that temporary team he appeared in all club matches during the 2003/04 season.
When he returned to Lyon his contract with the French club expired. The player received a call-up to OGC Nice from Ligue 1. Thus he was given an opportunity to continue his performance in the top French championship. Florent joined Nice on a four-year contract. Over a period of four years he was a key player of the main squad taking part in all club matches. In four years he made 139 appearances with club and netted 4 goals.
In 2008 the midfielder attracted attention of Lille which is also a regular Ligue 1 member. The player accepted the offer and signed a lasting contract with the club to which he is now bound. In four years he has already appeared in more than 96 matches scoring 2 goals.
