Florin Lucian Cernat is a footballer from Romania, currently playing for Rizespor. He was born in 1980 in Galaţi, Romania, and began his senior professional career at Oţelul Galaţi in 1998. In 2000, he moved to Dinamo Bucureşti for one season. He made 25 appearances and scored twice for them, thus helping the team to finish second and qualify for the UEFA Cup.
In 2001, Cernat joined Dynamo Kyiv and spent there eight years, except his loan-spell at Hajduk Split sandwiched in-between his stay at Kyiv. During his long period at Dynamo they the Ukrainian League thrice as well as Ukrainian Super Cup, four timed they were the Ukrainian Cup holders, in 2002 they won Independent States Cup.
Having left Dynamo Kyiv Cernat joined Hajduk Split for a season and left it in 2010. Later he had spells with Turkish sides Karabükspor and Rizespor.
He represented the Romania national team from 2002 to 2004 and earned 14 caps.
