Francesco Della Rocca is an Italian midfielder who is under contract with Palermo. He was born on 14 September 1987 in Brindisi, Italy.
Groomed at Bologna youth system, Francesco reached the professional team of his parent club in 2005. But lacking enough experience he rarely appeared on the pitch, amassing only 36 games for his six-year stint at Bologna.
In order to improve his skills and abilities, Della Rocca spent a few seasons out on loan in different Italian clubs. Thus, between 2006 and 2010, he played for Sambenedettese from Serie D, had a span at Avellino in 2008, played 7 games for Sassuolo and 3 games for Brescia, and scored 1 goal in 6 appearances for Perugia in 2010.
Having developed his game impressively, Francesco Della Rocca joined Serie A side Palermo as a full member of the team in 2011. He featured in 21 games with the Rosaneri in the 2011/12 season. In the summer 2012, he was sent on loan to Fiorentina. Six month later he joined Siena.
From 2003 till 2008, Della Rocca was capped six times to the Italy youth national team, coming up through its U-16, U-19 and U-20 stages.
