Francesco Lodi is a midfielder for Genoa. He was born on 23 March, 1984 in Naples, Italy.
Francesco began his youth career by entering Empoli youth system. In 2000 the coaching staff promoted a young midfielder to the first team. His senior debut came only during the 2003/04 season. However, ha had not enough playing time at the club and was sent on loan to Vicenza in 2004, where for two years he made mere 11 appearances.
In 2006 Frosinone became interested in the services of Lodi and loaned the midfielder for 2 seasons. Francesco became a key midfielder at the new club and scored 31 goals in 82 appearances. In 2009 Francesco was sent on another loan to Udinese. The club management used the midfielder only as a reserve player.
In 2010 Frosinone signed the player on a permanent basis. During the 2010/11 season, Francesco Lodi featured in 23 matches and scored 7 goals for Frosinone.
In 2011 Francesco moved to Catania, where he was a key midfielder for two seasons before completing a transfer to Genoa in 2013. However, one season later Lodi returned to his former club.
From 2000 till 2007 Francesco Lodi played for various Italian youth teams and totaled 41 caps and 23 goals.
