Franco Brienza is a 33-year old Italian forward who currently plays for Atalanta.
In his younger days, Franco came up through the youth ranks of such clubs as Campagnano, Isolotto, Imolese and Foggia where he captured football ins and outs.
In 2000, young footballer joined Palermo. There he performed as an attacking midfielder and was very strong in his offensive play. In 2002, Palermo sent Brienza on loan to Ascoli where he made a total of 7 goals in 30 games in Serie B. He spent his 2004/05 season out on loan at Perugia, amassing 12 matches and 2 goals. In 2008, a promising player was contracted by Reggina where he performed in the starting lineup and netted 23 goals in 81 appearances during a two-year stint there.
In the summer 2010, Franco Brienza moved to Siena which suffered a substantial comedown to Serie B shortly after his arrival. But due to his strong performances, he helped the team to return to the elite tier. At the beginning of the 2012/13 season, he found himself at Palermo again. 6 months later though Franco signed a new deal with Atalanta.
Brienza was capped twice for the Italy national team, one of the caps being the North-American tour with the squad.
