Gabriel Paletta is a center back for Parma. He was born on 15 February 1986 in Longchamps, Argentina.
Gabriel began his professional career in 2005 at Primera B Nacional Banfield. During his debut 2005/06 season Paletta was made a key defender at Banfield even despite his lack of pro football experience. By the end of 2006 season Paletta made 43 appearances and netted 5 goals for the club.
In 2006 Paletta made a breakthrough in his career by signing for Premier League Liverpool. Despite Gabriel’s expectations though, his career in England wasn’t successful as he made only 3 appearances during the 2006/07 season.
In the summer of 2007 Argentine Boca Juniors made official request for purchasing young defender from Liverpool. The parties agreed on the terms in the mid-summer of 2007 and Paletta returned back home to continue his career. During 3 seasons Gabriel was one of the key defenders at the club, periodically rotating with other defenders, and made a total of 59 matches and 4 goals.
In 2010 Paletta signed for his current Parma F.C. Gabriel is a key center back and a regular fixture in almost every game. Since 2010 the Argentinean made 60 appearances and scored 4 goals for Parma.
Paletta is holder of numerous international and club and awards, like Argentine Primera División Winner, FIFA U-20 World Cup 2005 Winner and many others.
In 2005 Gabriel Paletta earned 7 caps for Argentina U-20 team.
