Gaël Givet is a defender of Arles-Avignon. He was born on 9 October 1981 in Arles, France.
In 1998, Gaël joined the reserve team of Monaco, where he made 44 appearances and netted one goal during two years. In 2000, the footballer moved to the main squad of the club and started to make occasional appearances, but showed stellar performance and earned a regular place in the starting XI very soon. Givet took part in 178 fixtures and fired eight goals for Monaco during seven seasons.
In 2007, the defender sealed a one-and-a-half-year contract with Marseille, where he featured in 29 matches before being sent on loan to Blackburn Rovers at the beginning of 2009. Gaël managed to show the workmanship and talent during his temporary spell, which became the reason for his transfer on permanent basis.
In the summer 2009, ‘The Riversiders’ secured the footballer’s services and saw him play 131 games during four years.
In 2013 Givet returned to France and joined Ligue 2 side Arles-Avignon.
From 2004 till 2006, Givet was capped 13 times for the France national squad.
