Gaël Kakuta is a winger of Chelsea. He was born on 21 June 1991 in Lille, France.
Gaël’s youth career took off in local US Lille-Moulins, where he trained and performed for the junior team.
In 1999 the talented winger moved to the academy of Lens, where he spent eight years. In 2007 Chelsea scouts took an interest in Kakuta and offered him a move to England. The footballer trained in the youth system of the new club during two years.
In the summer 2009, the London side team penned a professional contract with Gaël, who took part in six games during his first season. In 2011 the management decided to send the player on loan so that he could get more playing practice. From 2011 till 2012, Kakuta performed for Fulham and Bolton.
In January 2012, the winger went on loan to Dijon and netted four goals in nine matches for the temporary team.
On 31 August 2012, Gaël sealed a season-long loan deal with Dutch side Vitesse which was later extended. In the second half of 2013/2014 season Kakuta played for Lazio.
From 2006 till 2011, Kakuta managed to play in 60 games and amass 15 goals for all France youth teams from U-16 to U-21 level.
