A footballer Gaëtan Courtet was born on 22 February 1989 in Lorient, France. He is attached to French club Reims in Ligue 1.
Lanester was the first club, where Courtet tried his hand at football. In 2002, he moved to his hometown club Lorient. A young striker shortly became the top scorer of the club. In 2010 he joined the first team of Stade Reims. At the outset he got an ankle injury, so he had to play for the reserves for some period.
His debut match for Reims took place on 22 January 2011. On 1 February Courtet appeared in the starting lineup. In the summer, doctors found out that the footballer had a cancer. He was prescribed a six-week course of chemotherapy, after which he was back to full fitness. On 3 September 2011 he was welcomed back to Reims, playing his first match against Real Racing Club de Santander. During the first 9 appearances made, the Frenchman netted 3 goals. Gaëtan Courtet is one of the key players of the club.
