Gareth Barry is a defensive midfielder, born on 23 February 1981 in Hastings, England.
Gareth spent his youth in different football academies of England. The last youth system he entered was Brighton and Hove Albion. From 1995 till 1997 Barry was one of the best trainees. The first club Gareth joined was the Premier League Aston Villa. During all 12 years with the club, Barry was one of the key players. In 2009, when Gareth was at the top of his career, he received an offer from Manchester City that were in the middle of their refreshment policy. Barry’s transfer cost £12 million and he signed a five-year contract. From 2009 Gareth Barry made 175 appearances for the club, netting eight goals.
In the season 2013/2014 he played on loan at Everton. Upon the end of the loan spell Barry penned a permanent deal with The Toffees.
