Garra Dembélé was born on February, 21 1986 in the French town of Gennevilliers. Yet, now he is also a citizen of Mali.
Little Garra learned how to play football in C.S.M. Puteaux junior sports school. In 1996 he started to study in INF Clairefontaine football school and after that was transferred to AJ Auxerre. Garra played there as a junior for 4 years and then in 2003 he made his debut for the reserve team. After being suspected in committing rape Garra found himself omitted from the squad. He has also had recurrent problems with road police. However, in 2006 he was acquitted and allowed to go back to France. In 2007 the player joined Istres where he scored 3 goals in 12 matches. Half a year later he went to AGF Århus on the same terms, and then moved to Pierikos. There Garra fielded in 32 games adding six goals to his score account. Soon the player signed the contract with Lokomotiv Plovdiv where he showed pretty good results scoring in every third match. It drew attention of Levski Sofia managers. In one of the best Bulgarian clubs Dembélé performed greatly with 26 goals in 24 games, and it let him find a good place in Western Europe. In 2011 he moved to the German Freiburg where he was fielded for 18 games as a first-string player and scored his first and for now the only goal in Bundesliga on November, 26 2011. In 2013 Garra had a loan spell with Chinese side Wuhan Zall.
His international career started in the French national U-19 team, but in 2011 he left for Mali. There he made 6 appearances with only one goal scored.
