Mohamed Nagy Ismail, commonly known as Gedo, is an Egyptian striker of Al-Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League. He was born on 30 October 1986 in Damanhur, Egypt.
Gedo began his football grooming at Hosh Essa Sports Centre. In 2002, he signed his first professional contract with Ala’ab Damanhour that competed in the Egyptian Second Division. Since 2005 till 2010, Gedo played for Al-Ittihad Al-Sakndary amassing 22 goals in 64 appearances. However, his career really picked up steam when Mohamed joined Egyptian powerhouse Al-Ahly in 2010. He pulled off his debut season with the club as the Egyptian Premier League and Super Cup winner.
In 2013 Gedo was loaned to Hull City.
Gedo is a regular international for Egypt since 2009. He scored his maiden goal for the Egypt national team in a friendly 1-0 win over Mali in January 2010. Gedo was an instrumental figure during the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations as he scored five goals throughout the tournament and helped his country to win the trophy. Moreover, Gedo was named the African Cup of Nations Top Scorer in 2010.
