Gennaro Bracigliano is a goalkeeper at Marseille. He was born on 1 March 1980 in Forbach, France.
Gennaro’s youth career began at Nancy football academy. It became the first and the last in his youth career for the young goalkeeper. During this period Gennaro was in training and participated in the matches for the youth team.
By 2001 Gennaro’s youth career had come to an end. Nancy offered the young goalkeeper to sign a professional contract, the first one in his life. Utterly new opportunities opened up for Bracigliano; he definitely didn’t want to miss them. The footballer signed a long-term contract with the club.
In the 2001/02 season the goalkeeper was loaned to Louhans-Cuiseaux where Gennaro featured as the team’s first goalkeeper constantly appearing in the starting lineup. Gennaro Bracigliano took part in 32 matches for the club during one season.
In the summer of 2002 Gennaro continued to play for Angers on loan. The head coach was always confident in Gennaro and made him guard the goal in the starting lineup during the season as the young player’s talent was evident. Over the year Gennaro played 35 matches for the club.
After Bracigliano’s return to his club the footballer began appearing in the starting lineup. In the course of time he became the first goalkeeper of the team. Gennaro played 198 matches for Nancy over 8 years.
In the summer of 2011 qualitative changes in Gennaro’s career took place. Marseille offered the goalkeeper to sign a contract. Gennaro accepted the offer; however he became only a substitute goalkeeper.
