Gennaro Sardo is a defender for Chievo. He was born on 8 May, 1979 in Pozzuoli, Italy.
Gennaro’s professional career started in 1997 at Palmese, where he played during the 1997/98 season, totaling 25 appearances and scoring 3 goals. In 1998 Gennaro was loaned to Giugliano, where he featured in 16 matches during the 1998/99 season. In 1999 Sardo became a player of A.C. Sant’Anastasia and by 2001 played 30 matches and netted 3 goals. From 2001 to 2006 Sardo played for Terzigno, Salernitana, Avellino and Piacenza, totaling 148 appearances and 6 goals for the four clubs.
In 2006 Gennaro signed for Catania and played for the club during 3 seasons until January 2009. In January Sardo joined Chievo as a loaned player, featuring in 7 matches during the six months. In the summer of 2009 Catania decided to extend the loan contract with Sardo, who made 22 appearances and netted 3 goals during the rest of the 2009/10 season. In 2010 Sardo signed a permanent contract with Serie A club Chievo.
