George Mihai Florescu is a Romanian footballer, currently playing as a midfielder for Dynamo Moscow and the Romania national team. He was born on May 21, 1984 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
George Florescu began to play football at the school of Universitatea Cluj CFM. Having graduated, he joined the club at the age of 17, in 2001. By the season of 2003/04 the midfielder managed to become a first-choice player.
In June 2004, the Romanian footballer moved to Sheriff Tiraspol FC and won the Divizia Naţională (top division in Moldovan football) twice. In August 2006, George Florescu signed up with Torpedo Moscow FC and stayed there till 2007, having netted 9 goals in 45 matches.
In January 2008, the midfielder moved to Midtjylland FC (Denmark). In 2010, he was loaned to Alania Vladikavkaz FC and later, on August 5, 2010 signed a contract with the club, completing a permanent move.
On July 12, 2011 George Florescu signed for Arsenal Kyiv FC. In 2013 he came back to his homeland to have a brief spell with Astra Giurgiu. In the summer 2013 the player joined Dynamo Moscow.
From 2003 till 2006 he played for the Romania national U21 football team and scored 4 times in 11 games. On March 3, 2010 the midfielder made his debut for the Romania national football team.
