Georginio Wijnaldum is a midfielder of PSV. He was born on 11 November 1990 in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Georginio’s career took off in the youth team of Sparta, where he showed astonishing results during his first two seasons and drew the attention of the top-flight Dutch clubs. The likes of Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV offered the footballer a move, but he rejected all offers and stayed in Sparta for another seven seasons before eventually sealing a deal with Feyenoord. Wijnaldum became one of the best young players, and head coach Erwin Koeman asked him to join the main team of the club and sent him to the training camp in Turkey in January 2007.
The midfielder’s professional début came on 8 April 2007 in the 4-0 victory over F.C. Groningen. Georginio netted his first goal on 2 December 2007 in the home 6-0 victory over Heracles.
On 18 September 2008, Wijnaldum made his first Euro Cups start in the UEFA Cup home match against Swedish side Kalmar. The footballer made 111 appearances and amassed 35 goals for Feyenoord during five years.
On 29 June 2011, the Dutchman put pen to paper of a contract with PSV till 30 June 2015. Georginio continues his performance for the Eindhoven side club at the position of a winger or an attacking midfielder up till now and wears number 8 shirt. His first appearance for PSV came on 7 August 2011 in the away match against AZ. Wijnaldum featured in 48 games and fired 15 goals for the team till 2012.
