Giacomo Bonaventura plays as a midfielder for Atalanta BC. He was born on 22 August 1989 in San Severino Marche, Italy.
Atalanta BC was the last academy in the player’s youth career which he entered after a successful tryout. During a year from 2006 till 2007 he starred for the club’s youth team and was preparing to enter the world of professional football.
In 2007 Atalanta BC offered Giacomo to sign a contract and to join the senior team. A young midfielder was glad to the given opportunity which offered the challenge for the future. That is why the contract was signed almost immediately as soon as all the nuances were settled. During the first two seasons from 2007 till 2009 Bonaventura periodically appeared in the starting lineup. At the end of the 2009 season the club’s management decided to give the player out on loan. US Pergocrema became an interim club for an Italian player for the 2009/10 season. For that club Giacomo participated in 4 matches scoring 1 goal. For the 2010/11 the midfielder was loaned to Calcio Padova. In total he performed in 15 games for the club.
When Bonaventura’s last loan spell was over he returned to Atalanta BC where he steadily progresses and hones his playing skills.
From 2008 till 2009 Giacomo represented Italy at U-19 and U-20 levels thus making 16 total appearances and netting 10 goals.
