Gianluca Pegolo plays as a goalkeeper for Sassuolo. He was born on March 25, 1981 in Bassano del Grappa, Italy.
In 2000 Pegolo signed a contract with Fiorenzuola, where he played in the 2000/2001 season. During this period he managed to become the key player of the team, where he got into the starting eleven in 34 matches.
In 2001 Pegolo signed a contract with Verona where he spent the most successful 6 years in his career. During this time he took part virtually in all the matches as a first-choice goalkeeper. Pegolo was young, talented and ambitious. This allowed him to make a significant progress and to become one of the best Verona’s goalkeepers ever. From 2001 to 2007 Gianluca Pegolo took part in 187 matches for Verona.
In 2007 Pegolo signed a contract with Genoa but it was a rash decision despite the fact that this team plays in the Serie A. The goalkeeper was immediately loaned to Mantova where he played in 26 matches in the 2007/2008 season. In the 2008/2009 season he was on loan to Parma where he played in 5 matches as a first-choice goalkeeper.
In 2009 Pegolo signed a permanent contract with Siena where he was a substitute goalkeeper.
After four years Pegolo completed a move to Sassuolo.
