Gianluca Pessotto is a retired footballer. He was born in 1970 in Latisana, Italy. A product of the A.C. Milan youth system, he began his professional career at A.S. Varese 1910, whom he joined in 1989. After two seasons there Pessotto moved to U.S. Massese 1919 for a season, then he joined Bologna F.C. 1909 and played for them during a season. The 1993/94 season he spent at Verona, the following season he played for Torino in Serie A.
Pessotto had a prolific season at Torino and was offered to join Juventus in 1995 and played for them for 12 years. Since his arrival he became a part of the first team and retired after the 2005/06 season, having suffered injuries and being sidelined only at the end of his stay there. While playing for Juventus he helped the team to win four Serie A titles, in 1994/95 were Coppa Italia winners, four seasons they claimed Supercoppa Italiana wins, in 1995/96 they won UEFA Champions League and thrice became runners-up. In 1996 Juventus won UEFA Super Cup and Intercontinental Cup. Gianluca Pessotto made 22 appearances for the Italy national team and was a part of the squad winning Euro 2000.
He took over coaching career and in 2011 he became the head coach of Juventus Primavera team.
