Giovanni-Guy Yann Sio is a football player from France, born in 1989. He has a dual nationality, French and Ivoirian. He graduated from FC Nantes, but wasn’t promoted to the senior team and left for Spain, where he joined Real Sociedad in 2007 and stayed there until 2009, playing for the reserves. Then Giovanni Sio signed for a Swiss team FC Sion and in the winter transfer window in 2012 he moved to VfL Wolfsburg signing a four-year contract for a fee of €5 million. After half a season there Sio was sent to FC Augsburg on a loan deal, but in January 2013 he left them penning a contract with FC Sochaux.
At the end of the loan spell Sio completed a permanent deal with FC Basel.
Giovanni Sio was called up to play for the France national U16, U17 and U18 football teams.
