Glenn Loovens is a Dutch centre back. He was born in 1983 in Doetinchem, Netherlands.
A product of Feyenoord youth ranks, he made his professional debut in the match against PSV Eindhoven in the 2001/02 season. Since the 2003/04 season Glenn Loovens had three loan-spells in three clubs: SBV Excelsior, De Graafschap and Cardiff City.
He signed a permanent deal with the latest one for £250,000 and spent there two seasons. During this period he became a key player and in August 2008 Loovens switched to Celtic, signing a four-year deal for a fee of £2.1 million. He made his first appearance for the Scottish champions in August 2008 in a 3-0 win at Falkirk. During his four seasons with this club Loovens earned 89 caps and scored 9 goals.
In 2012 he moved to Spain, where he joined Real Zaragoza. One year later he was released from the club.
In December 2013 Loovens joined Sheffield Wednesday as a free agent.
Glenn Loovens made two appearances for the Netherlands Under-21 national team and twice he represented the main team.
