Goran Pandev is a striker for Napoli. He was born on 27 July 1983 in Strumica, Macedonia.
Since 2001 Goran has been playing in the Italian Serie A. His first Italian club was Internazionale Milano. He was then loaned out to Spezia and Ancona in 2003 and 2004 respectively.
In 2004 the young striker joined Lazio. Starting his debut season at Aquile Goran demonstrated good play and earned himself a place in the starting lineup with a total of 29 appearances and 4 goals. Together with Tommaso Rocchi they formed a powerful attacking duo which guaranteed Pandev a permanent spot in the starting lineup for years to come.
An excellent performance during the Champions League attracted a lot of attention to the young striker from the top European clubs that wanted to see the outstanding Macedonian forward in their ranks.
In December 2009 Pandev left Lazio and in January 2010 he joined Internazionale by signing a 4-year contract with the Milan club. Later in January Goran scored his first goal for the Nerazzurri.
In March 2011 during a round of 16 Inter beat Bayern 3-2 and went to the quarterfinals. The goal that tipped the scales in Inter’s favor belonged to Pandev.
On 26 August 2011 Goran was loaned out to Napoli for a season. At the new club Goran managed to position himself as a fixture in the starting 11 though. He scored 4 goals in 13 matches. In 2012 Napoli were satisfied with Pandev’s performance and signed him on a permanent contract.
Goran Pandev is a fourfold winner of Coppa Italia, winner of Supercoppa Italiana, Italian Serie A champion, winner of UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup champion and a fivefold Macedonian Footballer of the Year.
Since 2001 Goran Pandev has been called up to represent Macedonia national team where he has won 64 caps and scored 24 goals.
