Goran Popov is a football player from Macedonia, born in 1984. He began his professional playing career at Belasica in 2002 and soon left Macedonia for Greek team Proodeftiki, where he was sent on a loan deal. After that Popov moved to AEK Athens, where he made 8 appearances and then moved to Serbian team Red Star Belgrade. There he made his debut in a 0-5 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League match but wasn’t used due to injuries and was sent to Odra Wodzisław.
In 2005 Goran Popov moved to Greece signing for Egaleo. After two seasons there he was loaned to Levadiakos for one season. In 2008 he moved to the Dutch team Heerenveen and in June 2010 he signed for Dynamo Kyiv. Popov stayed in Ukraine until the summer of 2012, when he moved to West Bromwich Albion on loan.
He was called up to play for the Macedonia U19 and U21 teams and in 2004 he earned his first senior team cap.
