Gordon Greer is a defender of Brighton & Hove Albion. He was born on 14 December 1980 in Glasgow, Scotland.
In 2000, Greer joined Clyde F.C., where his professional career took off. The footballer made 30 appearances during his début season and transferred to more prestigious Blackburn Rovers, thus becoming another young talent, who had to wait for his coming on the pitch.
Greer did not get such an opportunity till 2003, when he was sent on loan to Stockport County. The defender took part in five fixtures and found the net one time for the temporary team during six months and completed a move to Kilmarnock on permanent basis. Gordon clinched the place of a regular and fired four goals in 107 matches for the club during four seasons.
In 2007, the footballer sealed a deal with Doncaster Rovers and netted one goal in 12 games during one year and a half. In January 2009, the management sent Greer on a six-month loan to Swindon Town, where the defender became the pivot and made 19 appearances. Gordon’s performance impressed the head coach, and ‘The Robins’ secured the player’s services on permanent basis. In the 2009/2010 season, Greer continued to make steady display, but left the club in the summer 2010.
Brighton & Hove Albion lodged a tempting bid for the defender, who put pen to paper of a contract in the shortest term. Gordon took part in 93 fixtures and fired two goals for the new team as of November 2012.
