A French footballer Grégory José Henri Béranger performs as a left defender for Elche FC. Grégory was born on 30 August 1981 in Nice.
In 2000, Béranger signed for Cagnes-sur-Mer and his professional career began. He stayed at the club until 2003. That time turned to be very important for the footballer, as he got his first opportunity to perform at a senior level. He made occasional appearances both as a substitute player and as a member of a starting eleven.
In 2003, Grégory Béranger took the proposal from the Cannes-based club Les Dragons Rouges. The player’s debut season for the team was lined with numerous appearances made as a part of the first XI. This fact proved, that the head coach thought much of the new footballer. During the following season, Grégory made starts in almost all the club’s fixtures. He made 62 appearances during the spell.
In 2005, the French player moved to Spain, where he joined Racing Ferrol. He spent the 2005/2006 season with the Ferrol-based club. José Henri showed a solid performance appearing 39 times for the first team. After such a success, lots of big Spanish clubs were in for him, as they would be delighted to have a left back of his caliber. In 2006, Grégory penned a two-year contract with the promoted Numancia. In total, he appeared 59 times for the squad. In the summer 2008, the footballer was scouted by Espanyol. Unfortunately, he didn’t manage to become the regular for the team and had to be satisfied with quite rare chances to play as the member of the starting eleven.
In 2010, Grégory Béranger moved to Tenerife. He spent the 2010/2011 season making 25 appearances for the squad. In 2011, the Frenchman opted to join Elche from the Spanish second division. His debut season at the club was lined with two goals scored in 24 matches.
