Grégory Bettiol is a professional football player who currently represents Clermont Foot. He operates as a striker and sometimes as a midfielder.
Grégory was born on March 30, 1986 in Villefranche-sur-Saône, France. When a 14-year-old boy, he started playing for the junior team of Olympique Lyonnais. In 2006 the club offered a professional contract to the young French starlet.
Bettiol`s impressive performance at youth level pleased his manager`s eye. He found the net 16 times in 21 matches and contributed to his team`s victory in the CFA 2. Grégory Bettiol together with Karim Benzema and Hatem Ben Arfa was tipped as a rising star. In 2007 he was transferred to Troyes AC. The transfer fee amounted to €330,000. He first appeared for his new club in the match against Guingamp, coming off the bench in the second half. Troyes AC secured a 1-0 victory.
Since 2013 Bettiol has featured for a Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot.
In 2004 the striker was included into the France national U-18 team. Two years later he started playing at U-19 level. In 2007 Bettiol was selected for the U-21 team.
