Guan Zhen is a Chinese goalkeeper who currently represents Jiangsu Sainty. He was born on February 6, 1985 in Tianjin, China.
In his teenage years Guan Zhen played with Tianjin Locomotive and Shandong Luneng. In 2003 the goalie penned his first full-time contract with Shandong Luneng. He first turned out in the club’s shirt on March 16, 2003 in the league encounter against Yunnan Hongta. But due to stiff competition from Li Leilei, Guan Zhen had to make a loan move to Chengdu Blades in 2006. But he failed to become the team’s number one, making only 4 starts. In 2008 the fine glovesman joined Jiangsu Sainty. A determined and driven athlete with a fantastic mentality, Guan Zhen quickly became a mainstay between the sticks. He helped his team mount a promotion push in 2008.
Guan Zhen claimed international honours at both U-20 and U-23 levels. In 2009 he became a senior international. His world-class saves earned him a call-up for China for the East Asian Football Championship that was held in 2010. In 2011 the shot stopper participated in the AFC Asian Cup.
